In 2009, Patrick Hart and Sebastiaan Verweij founded JNR under the auspices of the Scottish Institute of Northern Renaissance Studies (SINRS), a collaborative programme of teaching and research at the Universities of Glasgow, Stirling, and Strathclyde. JNR would like to express its warm thanks for the financial and other support of these three universities, without which the journal would not presently exist.
The editors would also like to thank the University of Edinburgh, the University of Oxford, the Society for Renaissance Studies, and Bilkent University, Ankara, all of which have generously supported the further development of the journal.
