We are currently inviting submissions for our next open issue on any aspect of cultural practice in Northern Europe in the period 1430-1650, including but not limited to the following disciplines:
☞ Art & Architectural History
☞ Literature
☞ Musicology
☞ Philosophy
☞ Theology
☞ Political Studies
☞ History
☞ Rhetorics
☞ Dance & Performance
☞ Manuscript and Archival Studies
We are particularly interested in studies exploring alternative cultural geographies, challenging existing conceptualizations and periodizations of the Renaissance in the North, and/or establishing continuities and ruptures with earlier and later epochs.
Potential contributors are advised to consult the Submitting to JNR page for details of the submissions procedure and our style guidelines. We also welcome informal enquiries regarding possible contributions, which can be sent to us here.
The JNR is a peer-reviewed, open-access online journal dedicated to the study of early modern Northern European cultural production. A member of the Radical Open Access Collective, JNR was one of the first fully open access online journals in the field when it launched in 2009.
